PUBLIC SERVICE
Despite being forced to close Audre in 2005, Tom refused to let adversity overshadow his commitment to public service. Drawing upon his valuable government experience, Tom seized the opportunity to support his beloved hometown, Fallbrook.
Tom’s journey led him to join the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, where he became a respected member of the Executive Board of Directors and assumed the role of Chairman of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee.
Driven by his passion for history and in an attempt to assist the local economy, Tom formed and spearheaded a groundbreaking “Historic Initiative” Economic Revitalization Strategy. Through meticulous planning, research, and relentless effort, he managed to secure legislative approval for the designation of Historic Route 395 in California.
Additionally, Tom played a central role in recognizing twenty-three historically significant sites and buildings in Fallbrook, including the establishment of a downtown historic district. For these achievements, the County of San Diego issued a Proclamation recognizing Tom for his outstanding service, leadership, and commitment.
Tom’s unwavering dedication to serving Fallbrook also earned him the Exemplary Dedication North County Emergency Response Team (CERT) Community Service Award, and the Chamber’s Dedicated Service Award.
